Concorde Pack

Concorde pack is one of the two packs here at 1st Frimley Green and Mytchett. Here on our section of the website you will find copies of letters details of our programme and other useful things.

In 1975 the Group Scout Leader, Brian Bessant, or the Vicar at St Andrews, asked Charlie to “volunteer” to open a 3rd Cub Pack.
So the new Pack had its Akela and Assistant Leaders, so a name was decided upon. This was taken from the then ‘space age’ looking aircraft – Concorde, which like the leaders was dynamic and full of thrust!
Thus the forming of the Pack took place in the same year that the aircraft took its inaugural passenger flight.
The date settled upon was 6th April 1976 for the Pack to officially start.
